Professor Xu Chao（徐超）

Introduction:
Professor Xu Chao(also named: Yuzhi), professor, tutor of Doctors. He was born in Yan city, Jiangsu Province, in 1945.He studied and worked at the Department of Chinese Language and Literature in Beijing Normal University from 1964 to 1972. He pursued his Mater’s Degree of Chinese Language History at the Department of Chinese Language and Literature in Shandong University from 1978 to 1981. He was a vice director at the Department of Chinese Language and Literature from 1984 to 1989, vice chief editor at newspaper named the art of calligraphy. He has enrolled Masters majored in Scholium since 1993. He has enrolled Masters majored in Calligraphy writing since 1996. And he has enrolled doctors majored in Calligraphy writing (later named Scholium and Calligraphy writing) since 2001.
He was an assistant of Mr.Jiang Weisong, the famous calligrapher and seal carvinger, from 2001 to 2006; cooperated with Mr. Jiang to enroll and direct Doctors. He was engaged as the member of China Calligraphy Society, counsel of Shandong Calligraphy Society, and director of Research Center of Calligraphy Art in Shandong University.
He learns a lot from Mr. Gong and Mr. Jiang Weisong. He holds the idea of combining the discipline and art together, and cultivating the versatile talents. He has been honored the title of “Prominent Middle-age or Youth Artist”. He has published more than ten books(ones cooperated with others also contained), including Traditional Chinese language learning, Jia Yi-school note, National general level of painting and calligraphy Course evaluation – calligraphy, High school curriculum standard experiment textbook – calligraphy and so on. His academic works have been won second prize of HKCSS in Shandong Province, first prize of Outstanding Academic Works in East China University Press, prize of Shandong Province Book Award, and other prizes of Shandong Language Society, Shandong Education Board, and Shandong University and so on. His teaching fruits have won the second prize at the Provincial Outstanding Teaching Achievement, Shandong Province. He has won the top prize in writing field-- second place at Lanting education prize.
