Dean's Message
From the Dean

There is a hundred-year-old school in ancient China, Confucius's hometown, whose full name is School of Literature and Journalism in Shandong University.

There are a number of the most excellent experts and scholars who engage in the study of Chinese language, Chinese Literature, Journalism, Communication and Advertising; there is an academic library which has the largest collection of books in Chinese academic schools; there is a group of undergraduate and graduate students who are vigorous, hard-working and studious; there is a complete educational system from the undergraduate education to graduate, doctoral and post-doctoral education. This is a dean as I would like to tell you.

As long as conditions allow, we enthusiastically welcome friends from all over the world to come here to give lectures, exchange, pursue advanced studies and learn, no matter what kind of form.

We are very glad you can visit our website in English. I wish we can become intimate friends tomorrow though we are not familiar with each other today. Because, thousands of years ago, Confucius said: “To learn and at due times to repeat what one has learnt, is that not after all a pleasure? That friend should come to one from afar, is this not after all delightful?”

——Zheng Chun
